It takes only a few seconds for the products you apply on your skin to soak into your bloodstream. So I ask you, do you know what you’re putting into your bloodstream?
Most makeup comes packed full of chemicals and preservatives that clog our pores and can impact our health.
Here are the ten most common and most toxic ingredients you’ll find in your makeup bag:
- Mineral oil
- Fragrance/Parfum(e)
- Diethanolamine (D.E.A)
- Triethanolamine (T.E.A)
- Monoethanolamine (M.E.A)
- Hydroquinone
- Triclosan
- Sodium Lauryl (Ether) Sulfate (S.L.E.S)
- Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
- Parabens (Methyloaraben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben)
And I bet you’re probably thinking that makeup without these ingredients are crazy expensive and hard to find. But they don’t have to be! Here are my favorite non-toxic makeup brands you can find right at the drugstore!

Non-Toxic Drugstore Makeup Brands:
1. Pacifica $5-$35
Pacifica is a staple drugstore brand, but did you know that they’re cruelty free, 100% vegan, formulated without the use of parabens, sulfates, propylene glycol, mineral oil, petroleum, peanut oil or triclosan? making them an ultra clean and non-toxic brand.
2. Burts Bees $3-$35
Everybody knows Burt’s bees. They’re a trailblazer in the clean beauty community. While they’re not vegan (due to beeswax), they are 100% cruelty-free and all their ingredients are sourced ethically and sustainably.
Their products are formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS, petrolatum, or synthetic fragrances.
3. Physicians formula $9-$30
Voted America’s number one bronzer and mineral powder brand. And worth every bit of the hype.
Not only is physicians formula cruelty-free but also hypoallergenic and gentle enough for sensitive skin and eyes. Their products are also formulated without over 150 known harsh chemicals found in most beauty products
4. Pure Anada $3-$35
Pure Anada is a Canadian brand so I’m not 100% sure you could find it at target. But for my Canadians, you should be able to find it in your local drugstore and of course, online!
Their ingredients are ethically sourced and formulated without the top ten most toxic ingredients, free from all top allergens and completely cruelty-free.
5. 100% Pure $8 – $75
Some of 100% Pure’s products can range on the more expensive side. But not nearly as expensive as some high-end brands.

You have selected some really great products at the drugstore. The Wet n Wild blushes are amazing, the lash paradise mascara is great as well. But there are some that I still have to try even though I have heard really good things about them. Great Post! thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for reading! I know, I felt that way about the butter bronzer! I’m always hearing amazing things so I finally decided to try it and I wasn’t disappointed!
Nice post! I like using e.l.f. products not only for their price point, but most of their products are just as good as the high end products. I recently picked up the mad for matte palette and I like it too!
Yes! The price is what drew me in but the quality made me stick around!
Great post! If i went to my Walgreens they don’t have 3/4 of these products. Only a small section of Wetnwild.
Was hoping for a bigger self promotion in product placement. I would have to go to Ulta for everything !
Same! I have to go to three drugstores just to find what I need!
Hi, I would to know what the color the of Pacifica foundation is? Trying to simplify my makeup.
Hi! I can’t remember the exact name but I use the lightest shade. Hope that helps!
Where do you get the Pacifica foundation?
I got mine at a local health store but you can order it online at pacificabeauty.com and depending where you live you can check your local drugstores π
Target has it for $15.99. Hope that helps.
