At last, it’s time for my yearly roundup of all my favourite sustainable products I’ve absolutely loved this year! Last year, I rounded up just my sustainable bathroom favourites but I had a number of you ask if I could do ALL my favourite sustainable swaps.
Well, ask and ye shall receive! I branched out this year and tried some new products that I’m excited to share with you all.
My favourite sustainable products of 2022:

Bathroom:
I’d never given a scrub bar much thought, or any body scrub in general but it’s been such a skin saver throughout the year!

2. Plaine Products Shampoo + Conditioner
Since I went “zero waste” almost 6 years ago, I’ve used exclusively shampoo and conditioner bars. In fact, they were one of my first swaps. I got the opportunity to work with Plaine Products towards the beginning of 2022 and tried out their liquid shampoo and conditioner and I loved it! It was just like what I used to use but without the chemicals and in a refillable, aluminum bottle!

Honestly, mouthwash has always seemed like a luxury to me. Not something I need and definitely not worth the plastic bottle. My local refill store started carrying mouthwash tabs which is why I decided to give them a try. And I honestly really like them. They’re nice to have around for a little extra boost of freshness!

4. Period Co. Period underwear
Earlier this year I learned that a lot of popular period underwear brands were found to have harmful levels of PFAs (forever chemicals). Shortly after I switched over to the Period Co. period underwear and I’m in love!

Skincare:
1. Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Balm
For years I’ve been using my own makeup remover that I made and while I still love it, I decided to give this one a try and to say I’m obsessed is an understatement. I love the clean ingredients, sustainable initiatives and that it takes literally no effort to remove absolutely all of my makeup.

2. Farmacy Honey Halo Moisturizer
I have extremely dry skin all year round and only thick creams offer any real moisture. Enter: the Honey Halo moisturizer. It’s safe to say that I’ve become obsessed with Farmacy over the last year and I’m excited to try more of their products in the future!

3. Earth Harbor Sea Retinol Digital Serum
This daily serum is made from natural sea ingredients and helps protect skin from blue light. As someone with a job that revolves 100% around a computer screen, this has become a must for my morning routine.

4. Earth Harbor Reparative Eye Cream
2022 was the year I really got my skincare routine together. I turned 25 in May and it made me realize that my 30s aren’t as far away as they used to be. So taking care of my skin has become a priority and that includes an eye cream! And again, I know and trust Earth Harbor.

Makeup:
For far too long I’ve tried to put myself in a “zero waste” makeup box. But that’s not really my vibe. Instead of plastic-free packaging or just package free in general, I look for a few other things like clean ingredients, cruelty-free, and sustainable brand initiatives. Kosas fit the bill and after seeing this concealer all over clean girl TikTok, I decided to try it out. And I’m obsessed. Hands down the best concealer I’ve ever used.

Trestique was another brand I got to work with this year and I’ve re-ordered their foundation stick refill twice! Their makeup is all refillable which I love and of course, clean and cruelty-free. The foundation was the standout to be. Buildable without being cakey and blends out so seamlessly!

I love Zerra and Co’s zero-waste mascara! This mascara comes completely plastic-free and checks all of my clean beauty boxes! I also just love supporting small businesses, especially those striving towards a more sustainable world. Plus you can save some extra $$$ with my code ROSEDUST

This lip pencil is not only a liner but also a matte lip colour! And plastic free, even the cap is made from bio-plastics and will biodegrade! I love the colour range they carry and love that Elate is a certified B corporation.

Kitchen:
With the rising costs of food, food security has become a lingering thought in my mind. I grew a small garden this year but was unequipped with storage throughout the year. My Click and Grow is small enough to fit neatly on my countertop and provides fresh veggies all year round! You can save 10% with code ROSE10

While my husband uses refillable dish soap, 2022 was the year I used exclusively a dish soap block. I just love it so much more than filling a sink with soapy water. And it works so well!

I’ve always used reusable rags for kitchen messes and cleaning but this year I got a cute roll of reusable paper towels that sits on a paper towel holder that I thrifted and I love it! It’s so cute and just so easy to just grab.

Clothes:
If you follow my Instagram, you’ll have seen these pieces many times!
Whoever said ballet flats aren’t in, doesn’t know anything. I wore these flats religiously through the spring and summer. They’re so comfy and made from recycled plastic water bottles!

This is my most worn cardigan! I love it so much that I have it in 2 colours! The quality is unmatched and the shape is just so flattering! 2022 was truly a year for narrowing down my style and investing in pieces I’ll wear for years and years and I couldn’t be happier with this piece!

I truly despise traditional bras but I do like some support. This bra from girlfriends is the perfect combination! It’s styled almost like a sports bra with similar support but it feels just like a bralette!

4. Mate the Label Organic Stretch Leggings
I personally live in leggings more than anything else. So I invested in some quality, organic cotton leggings from Mate the Label and they are so comfy! I got them in 3 colours and wear them often!

This effortless dress was one of my go-to’s all summer. I really just love dresses because it’s an entire outfit in one piece! It was just so easy to throw on and again, Tradlands quality and ethics are unmatched.

When I tell you this dress is the cottagecore dress of my dreams, I mean it. It’s absolutely everything I could want in a dress and it’s ethically and sustainably made!

7. Colorful Standard Sweat Suit
I never thought I’d be much of a sweatsuit person but much like how a dress is a complete outfit, so is a sweatsuit! It matches and it’s so easy to put on, especially in the fall and winter. I love it paired with a trench coat for a really chic athleisure look.

Other:
Phone Cases are just a really fun accessory to have but of course, can be really wasteful. Enter the Pela case: completely biodegradable at the end of its life!

I love having painted nails – yes, even as an environmentalist. But I don’t have to feel bad with BKIND’s 10-free nail polish! It’s free from the 10 most common and harmful chemicals found in most nail polishes. So I know that I’m safe and the planet is as well.

No other reusable grocery bag can compare to Baggu’s! They fold down nice and small so I always have one on me!
