I’ve always had dry skin. Like really dry, cracking, eczema-prone skin. I’ve tried every lotion under the sun. Some have worked, but they can be quite pricey.
I’ve also found it hard to find cruelty and all-natural, non-toxic versions that still work.
Nothing seemed to check all the boxes.
And I was tired of paying for lotions that didn’t meet my standards. It was like every area of my life was non-toxic and cruelty-free except for this one.
So began the trial and error of trying to create my own lotion that was moisturizing and non-toxic.
I’m happy to say that I succeeded and I can’t wait to share the recipe with you!
This recipe isn’t entirely my own. I did a lot of research and took a lot of ideas and tips from all sorts of recipes to piece together a concoction that works perfectly for me!
Being that I have eczema, this lotion is super gentle and should also work if you have eczema as well.

Homemade Moisturizing Lotion:
This recipe is super simple and only requires 4 ingredients.
1. Blend two tbsps of oats in a blender and set aside.
2. Melt coconut oil and shea butter on a stove on low heat.
3. Remove coconut oil and shea butter from heat and add in essential oils and ground oats.
4. Transfer mixture to a jar and let it cool completely. You can pop it in the fridge to speed up the process.
It’s ready to use once it’s completely solidified!
This recipe is super moisturizing and the oats really help to soothe irritated skin including eczema-prone skin.
