Learn How to layer for fall like a pro

Ah, fall. The perfect time for cozy knits and chunky clothes. But it is easy to get lost in all the layers.

So how do you layer enough to keep warm but still look cute in the cold seasons? I’ve got a few outfit ideas for you!

How to layer for fall!

We’re starting our first look off with a cozy green knit. For you next layer, add on a vest. Any kind will do, depending how cold it is where you are. A wind breaker vest or a more decorative one like the one I’ve thrown on. Then to finish it off I added a big blanket scarf. It helps that the green in the scarf matches perfectly with the sweater.

This is probably one of my favorite layered outfits. And the perfect way to transition your summer dress into the fall time. Simply add a sweater or long sleeved tee underneath the dress. I also added a cropped denim jacket for extra dimension and texture.

For our third outfit we’re starting off with a black turtle neck and adding a skinny scarf. This scarf is definitely more for fashion than for warmth. (But my grandma made it for me, and it’s wonderful!) Then I’m finishing it off with this tan colored blazer. business chic and cozy!

This last outfit is definitely the warmest. Taking a mini skirt, I’ve added a pair of sheer tights underneath and paired it with some chunky, over-the-knee socks. For even more dimension I’ve added a pair of knee high boots and my favorite part, a plaid shawl! Now you’re warm and cute!

And there you go! You’re ready for whatever the weather throws your way! Thanks for reading! Don’t forget to share this post and follow me on Instagram for daily inspiration!

Caity, I love this post! I struggle with layering so much, but these have completely inspired me. My favourite is the black turtleneck with tan blazer and gorgeous green scarf. I especially love wearing items that have been made by someone special to me.
