I like to keep things pretty minimal in my makeup routine. While I may do more for a special event, this is my go-to makeup routine for everyday wear. Keeping my makeup collection minimal also helps me to reduce waste. I don’t need excess products or products I’ll never wear. I also choose clean brands that have the best ingredients, are free from animal cruelty and have sustainable packaging when possible.

Here is my everyday low waste makeup routine:
1. Supergoop! Glow Screen sunscreen
My makeup routine always begins with sunscreen. Maybe more accurately, my skincare routine ends with sunscreen. Either way, wearing sunscreen everyday no matter the season, weather or if you’re leaving the house is so important. UV rays are no joke. This GLow screen sunscreen from Supergoop is SPF 40, Reef safe (meaning it won’t damage marine life) and gives the perfect glow. Sometimes, I’ll skip foundation and just use this!
2. Trestique Foundation stick
When I’m using foundation, this is my go-to. I love that it’s a refillable product, it’s clean and it’s recyclable at the end of its life. One end is the foundation stick that is super easy and mess-free to apply and the other end is a beauty sponge!
3. Trestique Bronzer stick
The same container as the foundation stick and such a creamy product! One end is the product and the other has a brush which I love because when on the go, you don’t have to carry excess brushes and sponges.
4. Kosas Revealer Concealer
I did not know that a concealer could actually work this well until I picked up this beauty. And I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else ever again. This product is so creamy, blends beautifully and even after a full day (a full, hot summer day!) it doesn’t get cakey and has the same coverage as when I apply it. I also love this brand and its clean, sustainable ethics. If I’m skipping foundation, I’ll usually just wear this under my eyes and on any blemishes I have.
5. Elate Universal natural creme
My go to blush! I love how creamy and easy it is to blend! Elate is a wonderful, sustainable company that offers its products in bamboo compacts that you can refill once it’s empty!
6. Elate natural eyebrow balm
My brows are pretty thick to begin with, but I like to fill in the few sparse areas with this brow balm from Elate! It uses the same bamboo compact as the blush only smaller. This is great because it can be replaced when it’s empty!
7. Burt’s Bees nurture creme eyeshadow
I like to keep my eyes SUPER simple. I’m a one-shade eyeshadow kinda gal. I love this creme eyeshadow from Burt’s bees! It applies super easily and stays put all day!
8. Zerra and Co zero waste mascara
This mascara is completely plastic free and works so well! I love how clean this product is and that it’s handmade. You can actually save 20% on your order with code ROSEDUST.
9. Physicians Formula all day illuminating setting spray
The final step is this illuminating spray that is like literal glue! Especially in the summertime! My makeup doesn’t move an inch.
My whole low waste makeup routine takes me less than 10 minutes everyday and I love it!
