I’m passionate about clean beauty. I’m not a huge fan of slathering a bunch of chemicals on my skin especially since it takes about 30 seconds for the products to sink in.
Since being diagnosed with a chronic illness I’ve had to become particularly careful about what I put into my body. And lot’s of people are too. Always purchasing organic and eating ‘clean’.
But why then, if we care so much about the things that go into our bodies, don’t we care about the things that go onto our bodies?
You can find chemicals in just about every product we use in our day to day lives like nail polish, cleaning supplies, our food and our skin care and makeup products.
Related: Chemical free nail polishes.
We can choose to limit our chemical intake by being a little more mindful about the products we use everyday.
If you’re new to the whole clean beauty scene you can check out my post ‘the ultimate guide to clean beauty’.
There are many clean beauty brands on the market but I’m going to be real with you. They can get pretty costly. And while I can vouch for those products I’m not all about that life. I like to live as mindfully and consciously as I can but I don’t think that has to involve breaking the bank.
So I’ve rounded up 9 of my favorite natural drugstore brands:
1. Pacifica – $5 – $35
Pacifica can be a little harder to find in Canada but I promise it’s out there and so so worth it.
Their products are 100% vegan, cruelty free and formulated without the use of parabens, sulfates, propylene glycol, mineral oil, petroleum, peanut oil or triclosan. (Via pacificabeauty.com)
Their nail polish is also 7-free meaning it is made without the top 7 chemicals usually found in nail polishes.
2. Burt’s Bees – $5 – $35
Burt’s bees is a trail blazer in the clean beauty community. While they’re not vegan, all their ingredients are sourced ethically and sustainably.
Their products are formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS, petrolatum or synthetic fragrances. (Via Burtsbees.com)
*They do disclose that some product ingredients may vary so just be sure to read the label if you’re looking for something specific.
