Ethical fashion is in no way mainstream yet. While there have been significant strides in the ethical fashion community with brands becoming more accessible and popular there is still quite a way to go.
And when it comes to size even the fast fashion industry still struggles to be inclusive.
Clothes shopping has always been a challenge for me. While I in no way consider myself plus size, I am not a size zero. A lot of brands didn’t even carry my size in store but always offered to “order it in” for me. Which made me feel terrible. I can’t imagine how plus-sized ladies feel.
And in general, it’s just hard to find a size-inclusive brand that doesn’t airbrush its models.
So take an already non-inclusive industry and add it to a not-so-accessible one. It seems pretty daunting.
But there are amazing ethically and sustainably made brands out there who are breaking down these stigmas and making eco-friendly clothing for everyone no matter your shape or size.
