1. LA Relaxed (Use code ROSEDUST20 FOR 20% off)
LA Relaxed has been a long-time favourite of mine. Their effortless style paired with amazing ethics is just so wonderful. All of their garments are ethically made in LA, as the name suggests so you know exactly where your clothes are being made. As for sustainable fabrics, their clothing is made from sustainable fibres sourced from licensed mills.
Mate the Label is home to a vast line of essentials, basics and genuinely the cutest comfy clothes ever. Their clothing is clean meaning no nasty chemicals were used in the growing or dyeing process and they’re organic. Mate also offers a recycling program to take back used garments and give them new life as new products! Take about circular!
Kotn is a certified B Corp brand that uses Egyptian cotton in its clothing. Focusing on natural fibres that will eventually biodegrade and leave no trace behind, Kotn sources directly from the Better Cotton Initiative and small, family-run farms in Eygpt.
Girlfriend has taken the activewear scene by storm by creating a large variety of size-inclusive pieces that are made from recycled water bottles. They are SA8000 certified which promises that their operations follow super strict regulations when it comes to safety and fair pay.
Encircled has a list of impressive certifications including Certified B Corp, Canadian Made, and OEKO-Tex(R) 100 Certified. That last one means that no harmful substances are in their clothing and that they are sustainably sourced. Their collections are classic and timeless further cementing their slow fashion approach.
Pact brands themselves as “earth’s favourite clothing” and they make great efforts to back that up including using chemical-free dyes, sustainable crops and organic farms. They also only partner with Fair Trade Certified factories to ensure the safety and well-being of those making their clothes.
7. Ten Tree
TenTree is committed to finding and sourcing the most sustainable and natural fibres on earth. Every purchase also plants a tree. TenTree also prides itself in putting people and the planet first by partnering with numerous organizations to help reach and maintain these efforts.
Tradlands uses natural fibres like linen and cotton (among there) as well as deadstock fabric which is the fabric that is cut off other garments, to ensure nothing goes to waste. Their “cost per wear”promise encourages wearing items more often which in turn, lowers carbon emissions.
All of these brands uphold the highest standards when it comes to sustainable and ethical fashion. They strive to not only create clothing that is gentle on our planet, kind to those who make them but also good for us. This is something fast fashion brands don’t give a second thought about.
